Back-End Developer, Java Enterprise
We are a great team of developers, former and present researchers, and business developers building a world leading system for AI-based text analytics. Now we need someone to continue and complement the back-end development. You will have a large degree of freedom but also responsibility; choose the tools for the job and find and suggest best practices you feel are important. We are a small team and everyone contributes with ideas and solutions not only within their own area.
Our current web applications include Gavagai Monitor, an information analytics platform for all types of published media; Gavagai Explorer, a tool for analyzing commonalities in sets of related material such as reviews, answers to free-text survey questions, or legal document collections; Gavagai Lexicon, a live lexicon service for looking up terms and their relationships to other terms in many different languages (for example this).
Gavagai is a Swedish award winning language technology company spun-off from the SICS research institute. Extreme scalability, automation/learning, and language agnosticism are key features of our technology. We have achieved state-of-the art solutions to some of the major problems in the IT industry. Your role will be as a member of our back-end team that builds the data processing engine that powers our web based services Explorer and Monitor. Gavagai uses scrum as project methodology and has its own continuous delivery pipeline consisting of Jenkins, Rundeck and Puppet in combination with Linux virtualization and Jboss.
Skills & Requirements
You need to have solid experience from Java EE development and of Redis, Maven, Jboss, Mysql and Jenkins running on Linux. It is a plus of you are familiar with some of the following technologies: Node.js, Graphite, Cassandra, OpenCL, Heroku, Puppet and Git.
